PDF Embed

Introduction

Did you know that you can embed PDF files in content just like you put flash and other media? Well, this plugin from Techjoomla does exactly that - it allows you to embed PDF files in your content.

You can load an external PDF file in your content very easily using this plugin.
1. Google Viewer Support: This feature is offered by Google Docs. With this you can embed PDF files in a web page. And, the pretty part is - you don't have to be upload PDF files to Google Docs, but those files need to be available online somewhere.

PDF.js Support: It is a community-driven Portable Document Format (PDF) viewer that is built with HTML5 and supported by Mozilla Labs. It is a general-purpose, web standards-based platform for parsing and rendering PDFs.

Functionality

Very good! Tested with Edge and FireFox. Best in FireFox because it shows all pages in sidebar to the left.

Ease of use

I use only the path of the URL. Not the all domain-name. Using a subdomain.

Documentation

The documentation is easy to read and understand but it is not fun to write this review when you are forced to write unnecessary 64 characte

I used this to: Publishes personal decisions from authorities I would like my friends to look at.
Very convenient to embed in running text.

Functionality

I needed to display an informational pdf flyer on our website and this extension worked exactly as described.

Ease of use

It was so simple to use! I consider myself a beginner, and I had absolutely no trouble using it.

Support

I didn't submit a support ticket, but asked a question via email, and got a helpful, courteous and timely response.

Documentation

I thought the documentation was very clear and easy to understand.

I used this to: Displaying information on our website so visitors don't need to open another window to see the pdf document.

Functionality

The functionality provided by this plugin is really simple. Just insert a tag in any article with the required address.

Ease of use

The extension is easy to install and use. I could not get the google viewer to work - not even in Chrome. However, the pdfjs viewer works.

Documentation

It was not immediately clear where the documentation resides, but once the plugin has been installed, it will tell you.

Functionality

It would be nice if relative addresses were relative to the joomla images folder.

Ease of use

Only fully qualified URLs work, so when moving from dev to prod, all addresses will have to be changed.

I tried this (version 2.1) on a Joomla 3.4.3 site and couldn't make it work. I tried embedding via the embed button or typing the url.
