Introduction

Twitter share, Facebook Share, Generator Tag, Open Graph, SEO & Metadata

TAGZ inserts Open Graph and X Cards (formerly Twitter Cards) into your Joomla! based website. By doing so, your website tells social media networks like Facebook, X, WhatsApp, Pinterest and LinkedIn what information to display whenever you or anyone else shares a link from your site. In other words: by adding Open Graph Tags and X Cards using TAGZ the content of your website will look GREAT when shared on Facebook, X and the other social networks!

Why should you get TAGZ?

✔ TAGZ automatically fetches the required information from the items to generate the Open Graph Tags and X Card tags for the Joomla Components described below
✔ To make sure only one set of tags is defined for a page TAGZ will take care of deleting any other Open Graph or X Card tag
✔ TAGZ can also be defined for Menu Items, which is component independent
✔ If a TAG for a Menu Item and an Article has been defined you decide which one will be used

Generated TAGS

Generated Open Graph Tags (for Facebook, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, etc)
✔ og:sitename - can be manually defined (once)
✔ og:title - fetched from the item title with a maximum amount of characters (the amount of characters can be defined for Open Graph specific)
✔ og:url - url of the particular page
✔ og:type - can be defined manually (once)
✔ og:description - fetched from the item's intro text with a maximum amount of characters (the amount of characters can be defined)
✔ og:image - the image intro image. If there isn't any, TAGZ will use the full text image.
✔ default image: if no image is found for a url a default image can be defined for the Open Graph TAGS.

Generated X Card Tags
✔ twitter:title - fetched from the item title with a maximum amount of characters (the amount of characters can be defined for X specific)
✔ twitter:url - url of the particular page
✔ twitter:site - twitter account (@username) of the website, to be defined manually (once)
✔ twitter:description - fetched from the item's intro text with a maximum amount of characters (the amount of characters can be defined)
✔ twitter:image - the image intro image. If there isn't any, TAGZ will use the full text image
✔ twitter:card - either "Summary" or "Summary with Large Image", to be defined (once).
✔ default image: if no image is found for a url a default image can be defined for the X Cards TAGS.

Functionality
The functionality of this does exactly what it's designed to do and in a very user-friendly way.
Ease of use
It can be a little challenging to set up initially with 3rd party add-ons like Zoo, but docs are good, & once set up it's super easy to use.

Documentation
I used this to: Great use for social sharing so pages linked show up great on Facebook, X, & LinkedIn.

Functionality
It does what it's supposed to do. Remember to visit the FB or LinkedIn debugger if wrong information is shared. I love the preview function!
Ease of use
Given the complexity of the open graph handling by Facebook and LinkedIn, I'd say it's as easy to use as even possible.
Support
Perfect support! Roay answers immediately, friendly, competent. All (minor) issues could be solved immediately.
Documentation
Good and clear documentation, you find what you seek. Easy to grasp due to lots of images
I used this to: Guess what? Creating open graph tags for articles I want to share via social media.

Works exactly as advertised. Easily add facebook OG tags and twitter tags so facebook posts and twitter cards look awesome

Functionality
Brilliant! - It does exactly what it says... creates Open Graph code making Social Media posts actually work as intended!
Ease of use
I got the free version & a year later upgraded to the Pro Version. Well worth it
Support
Roy is amazing. Installed on a Joomla 3.x site & all good - Minor issue on my Joomla 4.x site but Roy was onto it and fixed it. THANKYOU!!
Documentation
I didn't need this really 'cos it very straight forward interface, but after reading it I can see how helpful it will be to 'newbies'
I used this to: Posting to Facebook mainly - Sets up correct og; codes so posts look 'professional'

Functionality
Good but had some trouble with automatic fetching of tags & image from content. Grabs first image in the article, even if it is too small.
Ease of use
Not too bad, though clearer documentation would help clear up some confusion.
Support
Must have a paid subscription just to view responses on the support forum. But developer was very helpful via email.
Documentation
Okay but could be clearer. Some parameters in the component (e.g. Joomla! Content Specific Settings) are not found in the documentation

Functionality
Very easy to use, front end is very simple and intuitive. Great integration with the e-commerce software I am using!!
Ease of use
Very easy to use even for someone without any experience. The menu is great, does the job very quickly and effectively!
Support
Didn't need to use their support, I imagine it is as good as the software....
Documentation
Extensive, it covers basic information and helps install and customize extension according to the client's needs,

Functionality
The quality of interface is remarquable. It's great to have a really control on the content of different social networks.
Ease of use
It's easy to understand and intuitive. Normally I'm working and wordpress but in this case it's for a joomla 4 website.
Support
For now, I don't try the customer service. It's seems that the company from others reviews give really an excellent support.
Documentation
Good documentation is really complete and it's easy to navigate. For now, I'm just begin to understand all the possibilities.
I used this to: The site for an author who has published nearly 80 volumes. The social network is really important for his commerce.

Die OpenGraph werden nicht automatisch erstellt, zumindest nicht in der Free-Version. Daher nicht brauchbar.
Ease of use
Es gibt sehr viele Möglichkeiten für Einstellungen. Daher aber auch sehr komplex.
I used this to: Since Joomla unfortunately does not automatically generate the tag for social media images, I use this tool. Unfortunately, it does not work as desired.
