Introduction

Login protection, Site Security, Admin Performance

AskMyAdmin prevent login to back-end of site till entering correct key=value pair. This is an extended version of plg_backendtoken plug-in.

Main idea of this plug-in - to prevent login to administrator's panel by using standard URL. It will hide your admin part of site.

Supported platforms

  • Plug-in works on Joomla 3.x
  • This plug-in is ready for Joomla 4 Alpha

Usage

  1. Download latest version of plug-in.
  2. Install plug-in, using Extensions - Extension Manager.
  3. Make base settings of plug-in, using Extensions - Plug-in Manager.
    1. Define your keyname
    2. Define your keyvalue
    3. Define URL for redirect
    4. Activate plug-in

Example

You have http://mysite.com site. Standard login to admin panel is http://mysite.com/administrator. When you install and activate AskMyAdmin plug-in for correct login you should use this link: http://mysite.com/administrator/?keyname=keyvalue

Данный плагин не позволяет зайти в администраторскую часть до тех пор, пока не будет верно указана пара ключ=значение. Плагин является расширенной версией plg_backendtoken.

Главная идея плагина - предотвратить вход в администраторскую панель с использованием стандартных методов и ссылок. Это скроет администраторскую часть сайта от посторонних глаз.

Использование

    2. Указать значение ключа
    3. Указать URL для перенаправления
    4. Активировать плагин

Пример

У вас есть сайтe http://mysite.com. Стандартный вход в админ панель осуществляется с помощью http://mysite.com/administrator. Когда вы установите и настроите плагин, для доступа к форме ввода логина/пароля администратора вам нужно будет использовать http://mysite.com/administrator/?keyname=keyvalue

Functionality
The idea is so simple, yet useful. To put a password into the url itself makes a site invisible to intruders. Sadly, it doesn't support J5.
Ease of use
Install. Add two words. Use. That's all. This is so neat and elegant.
Support
The developer seems to be active at GitHub, but this extension is now 4 yrs old without support for J5. I do hope it will arrive shortly.
Documentation
I used this to: All my Joomla installations. I haven't had any adverse attacks on pages with this plugin in use. Simply love it. I would dearly like to be able to use it in the future as well. (Hint-hint, mr Developer!)

Functionality
It works perfectly even on Joomla 4.2.3. It does what it should do.
Ease of use
It can't be easier. Just a plugin with 3 boxes to type the secret code of the URL and the Redirect URL.
Support
I didn't use the support. It wasn't needed. Everything worked fine with the sites I used it in.
Documentation
Yes, you'll find a short explanation on their website. You don't need anything else.

Working well so far on Joomla 4; simple to use and provides additional security. Replaced a similar extension that's not been updated to v4.

Eenvoudig te installeren en te configureren. Even zoeken in extensies.
Ease of use
Gemakkelijk in gebruik. Volg de instructies. Die zijn voldoende.
Support
Nog niet bekend. Nog geen gebruik van gemaakt. Kan nog komen. Hoop van niet.
Documentation
Erg eenvoudig. Nog geen uitleg hoe te handelen als de URL niet meer werkt. Is bij mij al eerder gebeurd.

I used this to: Veiligheid voor mijn website. Om hackers het lastiger te maken. Kan ik iedereen aan raden.

Functionality
It protects hackers from reaching the administrative login to enter the backend of your site.
Ease of use
Install it, select a key and a value and use them in the URL for accessing the backend login. The developers give an example in the plugin.
Support
The webpage explains how it works. It has links for reporting issues and getting the latest version.
Documentation
Documentation is pretty clear.
I used this to: I used an earlier version of this after my website was taken down because crackers were hammering on the backend login of my site. It is quick to install, easy to use and just works.

I use this on all my sites Joomla 2.5 and 3.0 I highly recommend this extension. Easy to use and it works! My hack attempts dropped to almost zilch.

I installed the plugin version for Joomla 1.5: it was the only one available I found for this version of Joomla. I spent 1 minute to configure it and it worked fine.

I recommend it!

This plugin does what it says.
